Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Legal Billing & Time Tracker plugin ("the Service") provided by Protomated. By installing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
The Service is a Claude Cowork plugin that helps attorneys log billable hours, generate invoices, record trust account transactions, and review revenue by chatting with Claude. It reads and writes data to a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive account.
The Service is a productivity and record-keeping tool. It is not a legal services provider, law firm, or licensed attorney.
2. No legal advice
Nothing produced by the Service — including time entries, invoice summaries, trust account records, or any other output — constitutes legal advice. The Service does not provide legal counsel, legal opinions, or guidance on compliance with any law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for reviewing all outputs before using them with clients, submitting them to any court or authority, or relying on them for any professional purpose. Trust account records must be reviewed against your state bar's trust-accounting rules. Invoice records must be reviewed before sending to clients.
3. Attorney's responsibilities
You agree that you are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of all data you enter into the Service.
- Reviewing all outputs before sending them to clients or relying on them professionally.
- Complying with your state bar's rules regarding billing, invoicing, trust accounting, and record-keeping.
- Maintaining the security of your Google account and the billing spreadsheet created or connected through the Service.
- Any obligations arising from your use of the Service in your legal practice.
4. Google account and data
To use the Service, you authorize it to access your Google account under the scopes described in our Privacy Policy. Your billing data is stored in a Google Sheet in your Google Drive. Protomated is not responsible for data loss due to Google account changes, spreadsheet deletion, or third-party access to your Google Drive.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disassemble, or otherwise tamper with the Service.
- Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair Protomated's infrastructure.
- Access the Service on behalf of any third party without their authorization.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Protomated and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or professional liability arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings.
